XenServer

Citrix's foray into Server Virtualization included the purchase of the Xen product range. Which has been rebranded as XenServer. The current version of XenServer delivers cost effective virtualization with high security and performance.

The leading vendors of server virtualization technology are VMware, Citrix and Microsoft. VMware ESX is the market leader, with Citrix XenServer and Microsoft Hyper-V being relative newcomers to the market.

Microsoft App-V

Microsoft App-V provides Application Virtualization allowing the streaming of applications to user's devices without the need for installing them on each device. Applications are streamed to the user's desktop where they behave as though they had physically been installed. Application Virtualization technology products include Microsoft App-V, Citrix XenApp and VMware ThinApp.
